I seem to spend all my nice days in London listening to 90s r&b indoors, dehydrated, and occasionally having to close my windows when the alley my first floor room overlooks gets too noisy. None of these occasions have constituted a life pinnacle.

I don't think I know Sascha, unfortunately. But I remembered I've met David R other times, too, most recently at an ex-ilxors' wedding some years back. Glad he's well and knows you and everything is awesome.

he's one of those hampshire guys. as is ilxor herb albert and herb's wife. david does computer/server stuff that i don't understand. so, really, both daves are very computer-y. they try not to make me feel dumb though.

also, that is a swell baby hat up there. and a swell baby! a happy little dude.

i like the hampshire people i know. they are brainy and arty. a good mix. and the people who stayed around here are really happy to be here. herb albert does computer stuff along with his wife but also had a label and an online radio station and they both make music. really good music! my kinda family.

thanks, he is adorable and pretty much that happy 90% of the time. i'm often amazed by him.

At an interview/book signing last night with Malcolm Gladwell. He was much like The Tipping Point: interesting sometimes (he's very good on race), a little glib at other times (insulting to Michael Harrington without meaning to be, I think). His whole thing on entrepreneurship--that to be really successful in business, you have to be amoral by definition--while not exactly new, was presented cogently. So when I got up to the table for the autograph, I said something like, "That stuff you said about entrepreneurs is basically the way Obama is trying to define Romney." It was just an observation--you couldn't miss it. He's still looking down at the book when my friend snapped the photo; in one second he'll look up like I've just said the stupidest thing he's ever heard.
