I'm trying to decide if End of Evangelion violates my rules on being just episodes of a series smushed together.
i'd argue for the inclusion of EOE as a stand-alone work

I don't get the hatred for Shrek. It's funny, it's touching, it does a remarkable inversion of the sexist Beauty and the Beast myth... Do you really think it's bad because it has maybe three double entendres (which are extra jokes, not its "premise#)? Most animated movies for kids these days have a few mature jokes for adult viewers, so I don't see how Shrek is different?
The second Shrek is still hella funny, though it's more comedic and less sentimental. The third and fourth ones are not very good, on that I agree. Puss in Boots was slightly better, but not worth nominating here.

Some Ladislaw Starewicz :
Miest Kinomatograficheskovo Operatora (The Cameraman’s Revenge)(1911) Le Rat de Ville et le Rat Des Champs (The Town Rat and the Country Rat) (1926) Fetiche Mascotte (The Mascot) (1933)Le Roman de Renard (The Tale of the Fox) (1930–1939) - this was his only feature-length film, all the others listed are shorts

it's just kinda crass and shrill and full of unlikeable characters and possibly poisoned by what it influenced later but still doesn't deserve to be placed above even low quality Disney eg never mind all the other stuff

xp to remy, Roger Rabbit got OK'd last night, the Thief and the Cobbler seems like it has an interesting history; accepting the nomination on behalf of the nonexistent "real" movie will be the "Recobbled Cut" fan edit (2006)

Do we have a ruling on Svankmajer's Faust? I'm guessing no, as it's acted mostly by real actors, but it's nothing without its animation (I would say it is at least as dependent on it as Roger Rabbit is on its cartoon characters).

Definitely "Lapis" buy John Whitney. And "Catalog".

As for Belson, I like "Samadhi" and "Phenomenon" a whole lot. I found a handful of rips of his films online and tried posting them to youtube and got copyright notices. Also got notices from posting stills of his work on my flickr. Whoever's in control of his work these days is a dick (and yeah technically that's him since they are basically 'fulfilling his wishes' that his work not be seen in low resolution).
