That whole Samson thing gets more and more fucked up as it goes along.
Later on, at the time of wheat harvest, Samson took a young goat and went to visit his wife. He said, "I'm going to my wife's room." But her father would not let him go in.
― pplains, Thursday, 10 May 2012 16:30 (twelve years ago) link
idgi did he fuck the goat

Top tip - when visiting your wife, if you're chatting with her father, remember to remember her name.

The first time someone pointed out the KKK thing on a pack of Marlboro's, I remarked that he smoked a LOT of weed.

whoa I never noticed the bees on the Lyle's logo. and I was puzzled because we used to eat the Lyle's treacle cake as a weekend treat for a while when I was a kid, and how could I not have noticed? but apparently they're not on the cake packaging:http://www.gummibako.com/gallery/d/202-1/syrup_cake.jpg
did Mr McVitie say "we're not making your cake unless we can airbrush these sodding insects out of the logo"?

xp to Marlboros picture - hanging black men and the jew what? are those meant to be legs? why would the jew(?) have legs shaped sort of like an M? this hurts my brain
amazed by most of this in thread; had only really noticed the FedEx arrow. I have one to share! Two smilie faces, not just one:

Hah, I was thinking that the other smiley face was the first one, but the top left corner was the nose, like it was in profile.

Amazed by many of these logos, but esp. FedEx arrow. So elegant. There's a brief interview with the designer here: http://www.thesneeze.com/mt-archives/000273.php.One other thing about the logo: the bottom of "ed" in Fed falls ever so slightly below the writing line. Wheels of a truck? Or am I making stuff up now I can't look at logos in a normal way any longer..?
― willem, Thursday, 10 May 2012 18:32 (twelve years ago) link

maybe it's like those parasites that control animals, and the bees turn the lion into a puppet and it's like a zombie bee-filled lion
how could would THAT be

the only thing cooler than a zombie lion bee golden syrup pinata is the moon, tbh

idk a decomposing lion swarmed with bees sounds like a fitting emblem for a product called 'treacle'

― banal like anal (snoball), Thursday, 10 May 2012 20:01 (twelve years ago) link
At least in the colloquial English sense. 'treacle' usually refers to black treacle.
