we finally watched Birdemic last night and it is incomparable to the Room. the former is your standard poorly made terrible flick. The Room is sublime.

wouldn't say that Birdemic is "standard", I have never seen nor could I imagine a movie as poorly made as that one, but yeah, you can't really compare the two. before I watched The Room I was told a lot of things like "it's not just your standard "so bad it's good flick, it's something different" - 20 years from now nobody will remember stuff like "Snakes on a Plane" but I'll bet they're still watching The Room

it was exceptionally poorly made, yes, but I could barely watch it bc of that. soooo boring.

obviously birdemic is terrible since it gets off on the wrong foot right away via an excruciating credits scene - I mean the movie is 45 minutes in before the plot goes anywhere at all...pretty remarkable

Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Johnny claims that he couldn't cash a check because it was "out of state." However, it is entirely possible to cash an out of state check. Johnny, a banker, should know this.

whats funnier is that whole story is stupid but I love the line "WHAT NO TIPS FROM YOUR JOB??"

apparently the guy who played Kevin (??) (the dorky looking dude who trips while playing football) quit midshoot so he was replaced by this guy who I think is "Steve"

he's one of the most awesome parts of the movie, he gets no introduction or anything, he just shows up and becomes a major character for like 5 minutes

also, the phrase "future wife" cracks me up every time tommy drops it.

Green-screened, Phantom Menace-style. They did a 360-degree shot in SF and filmed the scenes in a studio in L.A.

In fact, almost all of it was filmed in LA, I think, which is why they take great pains to insert "THIS IS SAN FRANCISCO HERE IS TOMMY ON A STREETCAR HERE IS A BRIDGE" shots.
