Yeah, and in the process claimed he wrote "Devil Woman" before someone reminded him...

Your memory starts to go at that age

So anyway,

Cliff. Mate. You have had a number one in every decade since the 1950's.

Except for this one.

You had a go with your 'thank you for a lifetime' single. It didn't make it. To the top, I mean. Number three, not band, but not number one.

So, you reunioned the shads, and done a fairly pedestrian version of "Singing the blues". It's number 40.

You have 4 months left.

It's not going to happen, is it?

Also listening to the 45 of Devil Woman on 33 is really quite sinister.

Sorry about the odd link in the above, still seems to work though.

Cliff? He's the fire blanket of British pop, reliably curtailiing any heat or troublesomeness...but he gets better the longer he goes on; my review of his 1977 double greatest hits compilation (the last of this year's 40-track double retrospectives, thankfully).

Here he is with the classic "Poème Électronique." Good track (Marcello Carlin), Wednesday, 22 August 2012 12:00 (eleven years ago) link

Cliff, disappointed the New York Morrissey show he was due to play at has been cancelled, has decided to play his own show there anyway on the same date June 21. It will be free of charge, with priority given to fans that had tickets for the cancelled gig. Nice move. Click link to see personal video message.

Cliff says let's get it on
