dreamt about hanging in a bar with ppl talking about the t-shirts they had as children. ilx user max ruefully told us that his dad was a huge chicago bears fan and had forced him to wear a bears super bowl vii shirt when he was little.

i was like, wait ilx user max, you aren't that old. he said, yeah, my dad bought a bunch at the time (1973) to save for his future children. also the bears lost to the dolphins anyway, which made it extra embarrassing.

(notes: i have met max once or twice. from what i know of him, it seems pretty unlikely that his dad would be a bears fan. the bears actually went 4-9-1 that year and did not appear in super bowl vii -- the dolphins beat the redskins to complete a perfect 17-0 season.)

Dreamt that a large number of ILXors came to my parent's house uninvited on Christmas Day. There was no food, booze, games, party hats, or anything. The atmosphere was like the reception after a funeral. Highlights:

• homosexual II wondering out loud if we should all call each other by our real names or our ILX names.
• my father starting an argument with roxymusak for no reason, because IRL he's an unpleasant anti-social mean spirited tosser.

suzy, me, and two friends from high school were escaping down a river by raft, where we had confronted an evil, tornado-causing djinn. when we stopped to change drivers, one of my friends, who works for a defense contractor, was like "I shouldn't tell you this, but C4lum R0bert W@ddell is trying to extort $100,000 from the United States government." Then suzy was like "Oh daaaahhrrrling, for C4lum, trying to extort $100,000 is like stealing 50 jewels in Zelda!"

I was in a sci-fi conference with Abbott and Tracer Hand. Next to me sat the sci-fi author Octavia Butler and his 10-year old son [I have no idea what Octavia Butler looked like in real life, except that she was African-American, or if she had a son]. Abbott was chatting with the kid, who had round "professor" type of glasses and a charming smile. A lecture started, it was on the subject of "Classification of sci-fi works based on the level of idealism in them". The kid, who was apparently was some kind of a prodigy, kept making really smart but kinda pompous remarks about idealism in sci-fi, and about the classification system the lecturer presented. The classification was a sliding scale that went something like this:

Utopian sci-fi

Idealistic sci-fi

Realistic sci-fi

Pessimistic sci-fi

Dystopian sci-fi

Really dystopian sci-fi

Awful, depressing, dog-shit kind of stuff

An excerpt was read from a book that belonged to the last (i.e. the most cynical) category. It was about a guy who lived in a world where everything was literally against him. That's all I can remember.

harbl explained why she changed her name -- her parents had named her Elisabeth Stetsy, so that people would call her Betsy Stetsy and laugh.

Oh I had a dream that I hung out with Caek and he recommended some movie about a bridge and then a friend and I went to see it.

I was dreaming that I was flying around my bedroom. Then I woke up on top of the wardrobe.

I dreamed forks lived in the apartment above me (I was in Apt. 1101, he was in something else). Anyway I get a knock on the door from the mailman asking if I know where package was to be delivered (It said, like, 1 1st Ave, Apt #1) and I was like "I have no idea", until I saw that the package was addressed to the name of forks' company (though it said "Concerts" instead of "Publicity"), so I walk the mailman up to his apt, but the lights are off, and the mailman starts walking downstairs, and I go "no, wait, let's ring the doorbell", so he comes back up and we ring the doorbell, but forks doesn't come out immediately, so the mailman starts walking back downstairs again (lazy fucking mailman, I tell you), but then I see him walking to the door through that crack btwn the door and floor, and he opens the door and is all "Hey, what's up?" and I was all "Oh, you've got a package", but at this point the mailman has already walked down to the floor below, and vocalizes his frustration with having to keep walking up and down the stairs. So instead of walking the package back up, he just throws the contents up the flight of steps, and I catch it and hand it to forks; it was an enormous bag of goji berries. Also, he had decided to added several numbers on this apartment number on his door (so instead of 2045, it said 1170424059931), and I asked him why he did that and he said he got the idea from Lady Gaga.

dreamt that i was on a bus (may have been a school bus, unclear, although we were all adults) and there was this beefy dude being a total asshole, ragging and bullying everyone. i think i was (in the dream) just trying to ignore him.

then underrated aerosmith bootlegs appeared, sat down in the seat behind him, leaned forward on the back of his chair and began murmuring in his ear. and within 30 seconds the bullying dude started crying.

that is a top notch dream.

Dream: a hoy hoy and I were pen pals. The letters from him had a little cartoony hologram of him in the lower right corner that would read the letter aloud if you asked. Also the letters were edible & had pretty exotic flavors. I felt like a Luddite just writing mine in ink on paper.

mookieproof's dream reminds me of a story that i think i read on ilx? about some guy that was at a hardcore show and had taken acid and he went up to some guy who was beating people up and said something like "hey, i understand..." and then the guy that had been beating people up started crying

2 ilxors in my dreams last nite!!

1) dreamt that i saw s1ocki walking down a sidewalk in Honolulu. he was super lobster red sunburned, sweating, and had his hands full with these really heavy cases. i was like "hey s1ocki! you're in hawaii!??" and he was like "yeah, for for work." he seemed really irritated. then i was like "cool! are you working on a film project?" and he just walks past me and goes "furniture repair." then i noticed he wearing a shirt that had a little swastika under the collar, like right between the 2nd and 3rd button. i was like "hey s1ocki! why does your shirt have a swastika on it??" and he goes "stupid work uniform...." then i followed him up a flight of stairs and watched him take out a hand saw and start cutting little pieces off the baseboard on some king sized bed.

2) later in the same dream i got an email from underrated aerosmith albums i have loved. it was about some on-board question or something but at the end he was like "PS- looks like i'm playing a show in Hawaii later this year!" and i got really excited that i might get to kick it with dude and show him around the island. then i looked up the venue of the show he had booked and it turned out it was a church that was super anti-reproductive rights. i somehow deducted that it was A TRAP and spent the rest of the dream trying to tell aerosmith but kept getting silenced by these church people who were all wearing t-shirts that said WE LOVE UNDERRATED AEROSMITH ALBUMS I HAVE OWNED and were carrying signs that said the same. at one point someone told me they were trying to make a WE LOVE UNDERRATED AEROSMITH ALBUMS I HAVE OWNED sign so big that astronauts could see it from outer space. somewhere during that last part my alarm started going off and i woke up.

Dreamed last night that I smoked celery in a dorm room with 2 ILXors (one of whom I've met irl) and Miley Cyrus. I was like, "wtf, celery?" but they explained that it's just as strong as weed if you do it right. You put it in a glass Coke bottle with some fire inside and suck the smoke out through a straw.

Not feeling very rested this morning.
