It's funny to see $5 and Red Devil Lounge mentioned in the same sentence as that's usually the stage to countless $20 coverbands. Good for them for stealing talent away from Kimo's and the Hemlock.

Expo 70 is also playing at my friend's warehouse space on Friday night in West Oakland - two blocks from BART. Dude is a 78 collector and has all kinds of weird stuff.

I'm always suspicious of such language but wtf? When you see a huge crowd of people in the street, you don't decide to get all self-righteous and drive over them, ffs. Make a u-turn and leave. Last night on Haight (before the cops had shut the street down, ppl were actually helping drivers turn around safely to leave.

Had dinner at We B Sushi on Valencia from 9-10pm and the entire time outside was solid noise, horns, people playing musical instruments out of their windows, etc. Stopped by 22nd and Mission around 10pm last night and the mood was amazing, the streets were shoulder-to-shoulder for a block in either direction. At that point it would have been completely impossible for a car to get through.
