Kings' Dominion. I threw up there once, and also made a bad music video to "Yankee Rose" by David Lee Roth. I played the drums and wore sunglasses.

I will plan VF/SF vacation to the extent that my tremendous suckitude at planning things allows.

river wolf, Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:01 (seventeen years ago) link

If you are going to do central florida parks then you really need to do Kennedy as well, no rides, but they got a space shuttle.

Ed, Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:02 (seventeen years ago) link

Busch Gardens Tampa is AWESOME

what makes it awesome is the two free beers you get at each beer garden.

chicago kevin, Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:03 (seventeen years ago) link

Elephant babies - probably Busch Gardens Tampa has them, but I don't remember them (it was 1997 when I was there). BUT, Disney World Animal Kingdom has elephant babies. AWESOME safari ride through at that park; also GIRAFFES, opaki, hippos. And if you go, spend a ton of money and eat at BOMA because the food is awesome (extremely tasty drinks, too; but also Disney prices).

Sara R-C, Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:03 (seventeen years ago) link

Ed, Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:03 (seventeen years ago) link

Ed, my husband wants to go to Kennedy soooooo badly; we have yet to make it there. (Too distracted by roller coasters. God, I'm a TERRIBLE wife!)

i went when I was working in Orlando last year, one day to see something on memorial day weekend, I chose the nerd option, (I wasn't going to go on my own to a theme park)

Ed, Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:07 (seventeen years ago) link

they should install at least one ride at kennedy, i mean sea world has rides now.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:07 (seventeen years ago) link

See also Sky Craft in WinterPark Orlando which sells surplus NASA and associated industries' junk

Ed, Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:07 (seventeen years ago) link

yes, a ride that would shoot you and a small group of elite team members into space or something, to conduct research and float around. while drunk. that would be cool.

i had to do an install at honeywell in tampa about 7 or 8 years ago. usually they'd take all day but they bought the system as a "test system" and they didn't want to know anything about how it worked. i'm guessing they were going to reverse engineer the thing. anyway, instead of having an 8 hour day me and the sales guy chris were out in 45 minutes. we had 12 hours until our flight and it was mid september so we went to busch gardens. no kids as they were in school. we got our free beers then there was a shift change so we got two more beers from the new crew. then chris flirted with the girl pouring our suds so she kept feeding them to us. there were no lines for the roller coasters. chris passed out in the rental car in the parking lot for 2 hours after we left because he realized he was too liquored up to drive. best day at an on-site install ever.

chicago kevin, Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:08 (seventeen years ago) link

actually, since i've been in chicago for 7 years i'm guessing it's 8 or 9 years now.

See, Disney has already sort of beaten Kennedy to this with the 2 or 3 post-Mission Space deaths. Of course, they don't actually launch you into orbit...

(Also, don't get me wrong, Mission Space is pretty great.)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:14 (seventeen years ago) link

You have to know I would totally go to Budweiser Gardens. I mean, they grow beer there, what's not to love??

Laurel, Thursday, 12 April 2007 20:19 (seventeen years ago) link

The Kukko Pils Arboretum would be more fun, though.
