YYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

river wolf, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:43 (seventeen years ago) link

vegas is a concentrated form of all the things that started to change about america once we ran out of frontiers, good and bad. it's this incredible shithole in the middle of nowhere, Nevada as a whole is EXACTLY what people really mean when they say "butt fucking Egypt" and you have this huge, incredibly diverse population of people, all focusing all their efforts on trying to impress the rest of the world that no, this is not a shithole in the middle of nowhere! this is the greatest place on earth! vegas is the ginormous 94/7 trillion-dollar version of a family living out in the exurbs on top of a reclaimed landfill that spends five figures every year on christmas lights and decorations.

beartraps.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:44 (seventeen years ago) link

sp3ncer f0xw0rth

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:44 (seventeen years ago) link

YES TO BOTH THE PUFFIN LAUGHING AND THE KNOWING OF THAT GUY.

John Justen, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:45 (seventeen years ago) link

dudes lets make a plan to go to coney island. walking around the boardwalk with your 3rd beer before 1 p.m. after 3 mimosas with brunch? CLASSIC.

doing the same when it's not 44 degrees and windy? EVEN BETTER.

Mr. Que, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:46 (seventeen years ago) link

See, now I just want to get drunk and ride rollercoasters but I have to work for 4 more hours and it's cold outside.

John Justen, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:46 (seventeen years ago) link

ugh never again for me with the cyclone, last time i rode it i emerged topless, bleeding, and bruised.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:47 (seventeen years ago) link

TOMBOT is pretty much correct........though, having spent a couple of weird nights in Vegas (usually on furlough from camping in the desert), the place is the best place on the planet to have the most bizarre time of yr life.

brtrps his brother and my friend, br4nd0n, is an ultimate fighter. i saw him cagefight in an octagon behind a strip joint in Hager City, WI

river wolf, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:47 (seventeen years ago) link

omg Sp3nc3r - he was a friend of M3liss4's, wasn't he - I dimly remember him being there when T0m K. asked me out (with M3l having hysterics in the background)

Also, Rock 'N Roller Coaster Aerosmith okay - it's just the constant Aerosmith in that section of MGM that drives me away after a half hour or so. ("I miss you babe, and I don't want to miss a thing..." Nooooooo!)

Sara R-C, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:47 (seventeen years ago) link

tombot otm re: vegas, of course, BUT SO WHAT? I love blackjack and free drinks and showgirls and cirque du soleil. I mean, I don't wanna live there or anything, but vegas is a totally fun place to throw away your money.

kenan, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:47 (seventeen years ago) link

haha being completely beered up on coney island IS pretty awesome until you actually have to get home, usually involving the subway, and then FUCK WHERE IS THE FUCKING TRAIN and you end up having to find some abandoned corner in the station and it's gross

TOMBOT, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:48 (seventeen years ago) link

Hmm, I wonder if work will send me to orlando again this year?

Ed, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:49 (seventeen years ago) link

OMG, there are a lot of shameless unattractive half-nude people on Coney Island.

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:49 (seventeen years ago) link

I do not know any ultimate fighters, and in this way, I am wasting my life.

BEARTRAP I WANT THIS ENDLESS SUMMER OF WHICH YOU SPEAK.

John Justen, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:49 (seventeen years ago) link

the cyclone rules

it's even better when you find out the person you're going on it with is afraid of heights. seriously, i had so much fun at coney island and the subway ride home didn't take nearly as long as the ride there seemed.

i'm not kidding, the two people i was there with were trying to figure out a way to get back but one is going on tour in europe until september and the other will be meeting up with him for the last month of the tour so they're out leaving me to plan this by my lonesome. srsly. let's do this.

chicago kevin, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:52 (seventeen years ago) link

the summer i had a valleyfair season pass was the best summer of my life.

ghost rider, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:52 (seventeen years ago) link

river wolf, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:52 (seventeen years ago) link

Can we get otters to bring us gin and elderflower champagne?

Ed, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:53 (seventeen years ago) link

i don't see why not.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:53 (seventeen years ago) link

river wolf, why are they having gay sex in a cage with bad rock?

i was going to ask this too, except without the uncalled-for slur against the stooges

kenan, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:53 (seventeen years ago) link

best day ever: bucketing rain until like 11am, which meant all the pussies left and no one bothered to come for the rest of the day. it was basically me and my friends and an amusement park.

i think i rode the mousetrap ride or whatever something like 20 times in a row

river wolf, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:53 (seventeen years ago) link

Dear Ally,

I wasn't referring to you. I was referring to random people on the boardwalk at Siren.

best wishes,
FB

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:54 (seventeen years ago) link

HI DERE, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:54 (seventeen years ago) link

Ed, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:54 (seventeen years ago) link

dear fb,

oh yeah, those people are pretty unattractive, 8080.

sincerely,
ally

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:54 (seventeen years ago) link

Seriously, if HI DERE and GHOST RIDER and RIVER WOLF and WHOEVER ELSE HAS NOTHING BETTER TO DO showed up during prime valleyfair/state fair time, we would all have a great time and could end up being Hazelden rehab buddies.

John Justen, Thursday, 12 April 2007 19:54 (seventeen years ago) link

we were giving the attendant highfives 94/7

ED: NAMECHECKIN'
