Pardon all my multiple postings, but yesterday when I was hobbling slowly toward my friend's iGo car with my bad feet I joked that I was doing the "Sheridan Avenue Shuffle" (because I am in an old folks' neighborhood), but now looking out my window this definitely appears to be not a joke but true.

Despite the fact that I have a shred of human dignity, I spent the better part of lunch filling out that application, doing my best to restrain my snark and to address the questions as if they were being asked by a high school teacher. You don't have to like it, but you can't just be rude and dismissive. Hardest parts: weaseling my way out of answering the question about African American influence on Western popular music (seriously, CIO), and picking the best five albums of 1974. It was all too complicated, really. But hey, at least I think I proved I'm not an RIAA bot.
