Proctologists' Seal of Approval!

Rock Hardy, Saturday, 3 March 2007 16:18 (seventeen years ago) link

I love how subgenius looks so wary in the first photo he appears in, and then later he looks more enthusiastic.

What was the red concoction far upthread with FB and John and the pitcher?

Glad to see that someone has a blender.

And nice photographs, too!

Sara R-C, Saturday, 3 March 2007 17:16 (seventeen years ago) link

"Glowstick" and "Bounce" sound awesome. I've played "Rock" before. We called it "Hit Rock". We also played a variation of "Rock" which involved throwing a huge rock to each other in a circle, while trying to take pulls off the square bottle.

HEROES

strongohulkington, Saturday, 3 March 2007 17:32 (seventeen years ago) link

i can't tell you how happy those pictures make me. this thread has redeemed my faith in ile.

strongohulkington, Saturday, 3 March 2007 17:32 (seventeen years ago) link

last the bartender at my local made me what i have termed a "virgin nipsy russell" due to the substitution of tabasco for live habanero action.

strongohulkington, Saturday, 3 March 2007 17:34 (seventeen years ago) link

i swear there was some other retarded habanero-esque ingredient like a candy cane or pcp or a pork chop, but I can’t remember now.

strongohulkington, Saturday, 3 March 2007 17:36 (seventeen years ago) link

I don't think I have ever been more homesick.

HI DERE, Saturday, 3 March 2007 18:04 (seventeen years ago) link

i don't think I'VE ever been more homesick and i dont even know these dudes! drunken idiocy with yr pals is the one universal constant.

strongohulkington, Saturday, 3 March 2007 18:12 (seventeen years ago) link

I don't think I have ever been more homesick.

If you visit I will buy you a Peanut Buster Parfait and I'm pretty sure FB and John will get you drunk. (lure, lure)

Sara R-C, Saturday, 3 March 2007 18:15 (seventeen years ago) link

Drunken idiocy with yr pals is what makes us human. Thanks to JJ and FB for remindins us of that, once again.

G00blar, Saturday, 3 March 2007 18:19 (seventeen years ago) link

HEY I'M STILL ALIVE, BUT BARELY.

I'm at work har har plz to kill me.

John Justen, Saturday, 3 March 2007 19:09 (seventeen years ago) link

Ha ha, I read that as "BUT BARFLY" at first.

Better hydrate with water and rest up; you guys have a long way to go to fulfill your mission.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 3 March 2007 19:48 (seventeen years ago) link

The red drink is the "Oh Yeah!".

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Saturday, 3 March 2007 19:56 (seventeen years ago) link

Best drink of the night, from what I can piece together from the tatters of memory: "Nipsy Russell" (srsly.)

Worst drink of the night: The Money Shot.

John Justen, Saturday, 3 March 2007 20:02 (seventeen years ago) link

Thanks FB; your clarification has made it so that I can continue with my daily tasks.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 3 March 2007 20:02 (seventeen years ago) link

Come to think of it, Ultra Biers is not that bad tasting of a drink. It's just aweful in concept and effect.

Windy G Moisture, Saturday, 3 March 2007 22:19 (seventeen years ago) link

well, i know where i'm going on my next vacation.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Sunday, 4 March 2007 18:37 (seventeen years ago) link

I really love the first picture where y'all are studiously consulting the internets for drink recipe.

horseshoe, Sunday, 4 March 2007 18:51 (seventeen years ago) link

Nipsy Russell may be one of my favorite drinks ever. We added a half-shot of simple syrup.

I really love the first picture where y'all are studiously consulting the internets for drink recipe.

Our principal photographer did not overlook any details. A true journalist, she.

Fluffy Bear, Monday, 5 March 2007 16:09 (seventeen years ago) link

i plan to recreate your party myself, but we don't have snow here.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 5 March 2007 16:12 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah that shit melted. took a lot of filthy tire rubber with it, now the DC spring/summer random stench effect is back!

TOMBOT, Monday, 5 March 2007 16:21 (seventeen years ago) link

On average, March is the snowiest month in Minnesota. WTF IS THAT

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Monday, 5 March 2007 16:25 (seventeen years ago) link

I WANT TO DRINK ALL OF THIS NIPSY RUSSELLS

ew that sounds wrong

also I have spilled coffee in my lap and now smell like wet dog, ugh

HI DERE, Monday, 5 March 2007 16:26 (seventeen years ago) link

you guys are heroes, i am totally nominating you both for pulitzers and nobel prizes and congressional medals of awesome

ghost rider, Monday, 5 March 2007 16:36 (seventeen years ago) link

Dan, you will love the Nipsy. One of the primary effects of the drink is to wake you up and make you alert, eventually leading to bright and shining nonsense.

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Monday, 5 March 2007 16:36 (seventeen years ago) link

i am so glad i have bequeathed this drink to the world

strongohulkington, Monday, 5 March 2007 16:40 (seventeen years ago) link

Our principal photographer did not overlook any details. A true journalist, she.

I like that they go from being really clear, to some blurry ones, and then back. They give it the photo essay a certain realism.

[i]also I have spilled coffee in my lap and now smell like wet dog, ugh[i]

What on earth sort of fabric are you wearing, Dan?

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 March 2007 16:54 (seventeen years ago) link

Denim! Ugh.

HI DERE, Monday, 5 March 2007 16:55 (seventeen years ago) link

Also, please stop drinking coffee made with dog-hair filters.

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Monday, 5 March 2007 16:59 (seventeen years ago) link

What did I do without FB's advice for so many years? He's like the Dear Abby of Hastings graduates. You should really listen to him, Dan.

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 March 2007 17:03 (seventeen years ago) link

DO NOT EAT THUMBTACKS

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Monday, 5 March 2007 17:04 (seventeen years ago) link

TRY TO STOP ME

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 5 March 2007 17:04 (seventeen years ago) link

Watch out; he has his methods.

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 March 2007 17:07 (seventeen years ago) link

This has inspired me to do something similar, but not at all.
When I return from Japan, Sir Weeze and I will have one case of Black Label beer, a big bottle of Stoli, and a bottle of pricey Absinthe.
We shall end up utter blasted past belief.
This will be documented with a video camera set up to take stills periodically, like, a webcam or something.

Windy G Moisture, Monday, 5 March 2007 18:51 (seventeen years ago) link

awesome thread!

(haha it's funny to see t0m drinking on ILM!)

M@tt He1ges0n, Monday, 5 March 2007 19:00 (seventeen years ago) link

The before/after Nipsy Russell reactions remain the most priceless things I've seen on the Interweb this past week. I esp. like G's reaction!

HI DERE, Monday, 5 March 2007 19:40 (seventeen years ago) link

Also, please note that while we broke off the stem, we did not remove any of the seeds. Dan, please try this as soon as possible and report back.

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Monday, 5 March 2007 20:04 (seventeen years ago) link

The increasing chaos as the chili oils dissolved in the alcohol spread across the pallate...
Makes ewant to try the bastard.

Windy G Moisture, Monday, 5 March 2007 20:13 (seventeen years ago) link

Didn't remove the seeds... it does look like you just popped the whole thing in the blender. I didn't even think about the seeds. Was that really a habanero? I don't think I've ever even seen one in person!

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 March 2007 20:15 (seventeen years ago) link

Also, do you want in on post travel wasted festivities?
keep in mind we won't stop until we're each dangling over the edge of a couch over a trash can, waiting to pass out.

Windy G Moisture, Monday, 5 March 2007 20:16 (seventeen years ago) link

The corner Mexican grocery only had jalapenos, so I thought all was lost (virtually no planning went into this). Later, my roommate, M, unaware of our predicament, pulled out the habaneros as cocktail garnishes. He just keeps a few in the crisper at all times. Yay, serendipity (and insane roommate).

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Monday, 5 March 2007 20:23 (seventeen years ago) link

He keeps a few on hand? That is insane. I love it.

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 March 2007 20:26 (seventeen years ago) link

Word up on that.

Windy G Moisture, Monday, 5 March 2007 20:33 (seventeen years ago) link

Good ol' subgenius. He is a true hero.

HI DERE, Monday, 5 March 2007 20:37 (seventeen years ago) link

We should do this again. and again. and again.

This time, I say we start off with gummi alcohcoin.

John Justen, Monday, 5 March 2007 20:58 (seventeen years ago) link

This time I say I be there!!!

Windy G Moisture, Monday, 5 March 2007 21:08 (seventeen years ago) link

We should do this again. and again. and again.

With photo documentation for those in remote regions, plz.

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 March 2007 21:35 (seventeen years ago) link

Of course. We have a lot of shots to go, but we would like some more suggestions, please.
