Mracello Carlin?

I was waiting for someone to open that can of worms...

-- ailsa (ailsa_watson7...), October 13th, 2005.

Let's reseal that particular can as quickly as possible, shall we?

"Mracello" Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 14 October 2005 05:45 (eighteen years ago) link

Well, gee, it's someone I know and someone I do actually *fancy* so certain cans of worms can stay closed.

My mystery dreamsex man has been named in the above list, though. He was good in dreambed, as well. :-)

Paranoid Spice (kate), Friday, 14 October 2005 06:52 (eighteen years ago) link

no, not "certain cans of worms," plural and non-specific - THAT PARTICULAR CAN of worms. call a spade a spade, and all that.

i had a dream about getting some heroin last night.
not ilx0r related, but worth mentioning, i think.

even stranger was the fact that when i woke up and realised it was a dream, i was kinda disappointed.

wtf?

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 14 October 2005 07:20 (eighteen years ago) link

I don't know why you're posting a non-ILxor related dream on a thread about ILx dreams either.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Friday, 14 October 2005 07:23 (eighteen years ago) link

quite obviously it was simply to annoy everybody.
yeesh. forget it.

Last night I dreamed that I was a character in some sort of mid-nineties Bill Cosby crime/mystery drama. Luna and I had been taken captive by the villain and were being held in an apartment. The captivity was actually not very strict. We never saw the villain or any real signs of captivity. Mostly we just sat in the living room and ate cookies and chatted, and every now and then Vanessa Huxtable would show up to tell us how Cosby was coming along with solving the crime. Still, Luna seemed a little worried about the whole thing, because her son had just contracted a rare form of bellybutton lice, and she needed to take him to the doctor. She seemed embarrassed about telling me this, so I lied and said that I too had suffered from bellybutton lice, and that it was no laughing matter.

Then a bunch of my middle school friends came over to help formulate an escape plan. We went out into a garage and built a giant hardwood canoe-on-wheels, which we used to batter through the rear wall of the apartment and roll away down the back slope. When we hit the one obstacle along the way -- a big curb -- I activated the special wheelie-popping device we'd installed in the canoe, and we made it over successfully. But then I looked behind me, and noticed that Nick and Brian and I were the only ones who hadn't been jounced out of the canoe by the impact. So after a long argument about it, I convinced Nick and Brian to ignore Bill Cosby (who was up on the next hillside with a bunch of police vans, waving us to safety) and we went back toward the building to search for Luna and the others.

jaymc (jaymc), Saturday, 15 October 2005 08:14 (eighteen years ago) link

that's weird, last night i had a dream that i made up with some friends from way back. strange, because had it not been a dream, i would've been thinking straight and told myself that i really don't want to be friends with them.

no ilxors involved again, sorry. but it was topical!

jaymc (jaymc), Saturday, 15 October 2005 08:32 (eighteen years ago) link

'grade A buddy', then? i dunno.

anyway, this has nothing to do with ilx dreams, so we might get told off.
i guess we need a "this is the thread where jaymc comes home drunk and g-kit sits at work being all grumpy"

b. weird al yankovic and sheryl crow rubbing tits together in a high rise building...hand cuffed.

Last night: I was standing around, wading in a broad stream, with Marcello and a crowd of other people. I was excited to finally see what Marcello looks like, and found that he's rather handsome, much better-looking than Ken Stott. We were standing at the mouth of a culvert, and Marcello was persuading people (mostly women) to walk through the culvert with him to talk about pop music, promising loudly that "WHAT GOES ON IN THE CULVERT, STAYS IN THE CULVERT". Eventually he persuaded some and set off; after a while I sneaked in after them, and found that they were walking round in circles in the dark, still talking about pop music.

Geez, and then I had another -- though it was mostly a dream about something else, in which we just happened to pass a little store called "The Ronan's Roar" (proprietor: Ronan). We spent like five minutes trying to figure out how "Ronan" could possibly be a pun on "lion."

nabiscothingy, Monday, 17 October 2005 05:25 (eighteen years ago) link

Holy shit: AGAIN! Although minor, again -- in this dream there was a cloud of smoke and I said "oh geez, it's that guy again," and someone else said "who, Jon Williams?" But I meant someone else.

nabiscothingy, Monday, 17 October 2005 17:31 (eighteen years ago) link

Ronan O'Gara
POSITION: Fly-half
COUNTRY: Ireland
INTERNATIONAL CAPS: 52
LIONS CAPS: 0

A touring Lion in 2001, making two midweek appearances, O'Gara will look to make the step up from the bench to win his first cap this summer despite stiff competition in the fly-half ranks.

That is something the Munster man has not avoided in the past, indeed he has been a part of a see-saw battle for the Ireland No 10 shirt down the years with David Humphreys.

The San Diego-born O'Gara has certainly been winning the fight of late though, being the first-choice since impressing in last year's Six Nations as he helped Ireland win the Triple Crown.

O'Gara shot onto the European stage in the 2000 Heineken Cup as he inspired Munster to the final - and the Irish selectors sat up and took notice.

He was frustrated by injuries and a loss of form in the summer of 2002, allowing Humphreys to edge him out of the Ireland side, but now he is back firing on all cylinders.

A solid goal-kicker, probably only Jonny Wilkinson is better, and a shrewd playmaker, it is great to see the Munster man back where he belongs – on the biggest stage of all.

I was in a computer lab like back in college, and everytime I logged in the system administrators (who I actually know in real life) would come over very excited because they thought I was Andrew NF and could fix the ILX search function (nb they are not ILXors). They seemed pretty happy to see me, though.

i had another fucked up dream last night.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 06:50 (eighteen years ago) link

My car got a flat on the Kingston Bridge so Ned Raggett, ailsa, Madchen and I had to walk along the motorway and into the city centre to get to a shoe shop. On the way I came up with
Some tyres are fat,
some tyres are thin,
some stop you skidding,
others help you win

Ned laughed and said we should start an ILM thread "Songs about car parts" and I said that that sounded like a shite idea. Ned said "Heavens!" and we all laughed that Ned said "Heavens!" in real (dream) life.
When we got to the shoe shop ailsa and Madchen were buying matching red plimsoles then everyone magically changed into some of my old school friends when I wasn't looking.

The ILX dreams are coming thick and fast right now. This one is especially random. I dreamt that Dadaismus was marrying a younger version of the actress that played Blanche in the Golden Girls. He was only doing this to hide the fact he was gay from his upper-crust family of Highland Lairds. No, Dada, I have no idea why you appeared in my dream in this frankly baffling form.

There was another one a month or so ago where I'd gone to Texas with my Dad for my Uncle's second wedding to some woman we didn't know. I was worried we'd get caught up in the hurricane. We were driving towards a huge isolated city in the 'desert' and then stopped at a diner to find Pete, Tom and his wife within and I realised I was also there for Chris and Vicky getting re-married even though they were already married. No more cheese toasties after 11pm for me Mum...

I had a dream I was stuck at an airport with Ally C and Cathy - we were trying to get to a Scandinavian pop festival but all the flights were cancelled. I also dreamt that LFC had asked me to be their new right winger, but I messed up in a European game. I also dreamt that my new pet dog had been attacked and its two front legs ripped off. :(

i was back at my old house with my mum, she had bought a new couch set for the lounge. The couch was covered in a pattern of sand and pebbles. When I asked her why she had bought such a bizarre colour she told me she had seen it on a web site. And she showed me ilx which only had 3 unread messages, but they weren't messages at all in fact it wasn't even a web site it was just 3 sections of sand and pebbles each representing a seperate chair. We were both amazed at how similar the colours were between ilx and the new chairs. I remember staring at the patterns and being mesmorized.

I had a terrifying and horrible dream last night that had two parts:
Part One:
Pullapartgirl, Jeff-PTTL and I were wandering around this huge indoor festival in a convention center that was also full of caves and cold, dank places to sit. We were waiting for a surprise show that we had been invited to that would include Guided By Voices and Steve Malkmus' new "Band of Plants." We waited and waited and no one ever showed up, so we left. This part was sort of long and boring.

Part Two:
I went home and I was there relaxing on the couch with my hubs and one of our dogs and for some reason Jeff was still there. He was talking in the bathroon when there was a loud knock on the door and 6 people walked in, male and female, and they announced that they were going to kill us. There was a Christmas movie playing on TV that featured singing pieces of asparagus. Jeff suggested I take a butcher knife and slit the throats of our would-be assailants, so I killed them all, one by one. When we had about 6 dead bodies on the floor Jeff said "Well, I better go -- see you guys later" and we had a huge argument about whether or not it was his idea to kill the people and whether or not he owed it to us to help us clean up the mess. The asparagus started singing again and I woke up.

If I hadn't had to wake up at 5.45am this morning to pick Sgs up from the airport I'd never have remembered this one, but it was a gem. Essentially, it involved Ken C as a filmic hero type who, in a climactic showdown scenario, was battling two evil villains on a basketball court, both of whom were in wheelchairs and whose heads were each no bigger than a small grapefruit.

I was going through Boston, so I stopped in to see Ned Raggett. (It's a dream.) He tried to sell me some CDRs, calling them "Test Pressings"... But then I did ask if he had any LPs he was trying to sell off .. he did, but they were mostly horrible, except for a 2LP version of Solid Gold which I didn't even bother to look at to see what was on disc 2. But he coerced me into buying a Los Lobos record called "The Sun" and a fIREHOSE CD that I already own. Together, they were $10. I opened up my wallet and he snatched two fives out .. and then he took out a twenty and said, "I'll get you change for this" .. He changed it for $6 and a bunch of cookies. Individually wrapped, Little Debbie cookies - presumably valued at $1 each. I asked for a bag to put the cookies in. At first he gave me a ziplock freezer bag, but then as I started loading it with cookies, I noticed that it was actually an old sofa pillow with the stuffing taken out.

Seemed like it took forever to get out of that place. Do not visit Ned at his Boston home.
