Can I just say that Jennifer Government has to be the worst book title ever?

This is me - The Disputed Territories of Wapse. I am proud to be an Ilxorian, though I worry about the excess of bureaucracy and the asylum seekers.

The Republic of Coulsonia
"At least it's not Lancaster"

UN Category: Inoffensive Centrist Democracy
Civil Rights: Average
Economy: Strong
Political Freedoms: Below Average

Location: the West Pacific

The Republic of Coulsonia is a tiny, pleasant nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The tiny government juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Law & Order, and Commerce. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 5%. A healthy private sector is led by the Trout Farming industry, followed by Basket Weaving and Automobile Manufacturing.

Crime is a serious problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Coulsonia's national animal is the anorexic teenage model and its currency is the angst.

The Republic of Croal

"No, Really!"
UN Category: Scandinavian Liberal Paradise
Civil Rights: Superb Economy: Reasonable Political Freedoms: Excellent

Location: Ilxoria

The Republic of Croal is a small, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its devotion to social welfare. Its intelligent population of 8 million enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level social equality free of the usual accompanying government corruption.

The enormous, liberal government is mainly concerned with Social Welfare, although Healthcare and Education are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 34%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small private sector is dominated by the Basket Weaving industry.

Voting is compulsory and scientists regularly clone human beings for research purposes. Crime is relatively low. Croal's national animal is the euglena, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the crodr.

The UN has launched a cruel and calculated attack on the educational status of my population.

Well, if you'd been at all clever, you would have seen it coming.

Chris P (Chris P), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 16:10 (twenty-one years ago) link

I've decided I want a nation of intelligent vegetarian thugs.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 16:10 (twenty-one years ago) link

Well, yeah, the local soothsayer was blabbering about "woe this and woe that", but I had him banished.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 16:15 (twenty-one years ago) link

Today, I had a referendum that, because of the shocking economic inequalities of our populace, the other countries are laughing at me and something should be done to rectify the situation. I voted "find out who is laughing and kick their ass". SO WATCH YOURSELF FUCKERS.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 16:16 (twenty-one years ago) link

We're laughing because your citizens are the second-stupidest in Ilxoria, Bitchcakes. Bwahaha.

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 17:25 (twenty-one years ago) link

I've decided that I'm going to be a most serene republic.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 17:39 (twenty-one years ago) link

We're laughing because your citizens are the second-stupidest in Ilxoria, Bitchcakes.

I think you'll find that it's very common in the business world for the richest person in the office to be the stupidest.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 17:52 (twenty-one years ago) link

Ok I'm waiting for the email from the UN - if it doesn't get here soon, I'm gonna start kicking ass.

...blue tongued swear-beast...

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 19:23 (twenty-one years ago) link

I have to say that there are some people in the forums who take things a little too seriously.

Kerry (dymaxia), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 19:49 (twenty-one years ago) link

Should we join them and piss them off with our irreverence?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 19:49 (twenty-one years ago) link

Hell yes. I want to declare war on all of them.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 19:50 (twenty-one years ago) link

Ok I'm in the UN now - bring it.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 19:59 (twenty-one years ago) link

If you declare war, they'll tell you that you're "godmodding", or whatever it's called.

Seriously - my state objected to another state's policies and the guy seemed to really take it personally.

And check out the weapons and warmaking discussions - shades of high school D&D for sure.

Kerry (dymaxia), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 20:02 (twenty-one years ago) link

Now endorse me, pretty please.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 20:03 (twenty-one years ago) link

I don't see YOU endorsing anyone, freeloader. (i shall endorse all y'all)

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 20:43 (twenty-one years ago) link

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 20:51 (twenty-one years ago) link

So, um, what do you get from endorsements? What the hell is the point of this game anyway?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 20:56 (twenty-one years ago) link

SILENCE!!

oops (Oops), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 20:59 (twenty-one years ago) link

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 21:10 (twenty-one years ago) link

OH NO, within two hours I went from being a capitalist to being a left-leaning college state! What the fuck!

Is one of you going to own up to being the guy hitting on me in telegrams? Is my country particularly sexxxy that what I look like is relevant?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 21:10 (twenty-one years ago) link

You didn't aprove any welfare reforms are you?

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 21:15 (twenty-one years ago) link

A'ight y'all, here's the Zwobot doctrine. You keep your forests lush 'n' green, I endorse you. You burn your forests down, I burn my endorsement down. Simple as that.

Frühlingsmute (Wintermute), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 21:18 (twenty-one years ago) link

I did approve a welfare reform, to bring money to hospitals.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 21:21 (twenty-one years ago) link

*blinks* Over the weekend Bunraku's population jumped from 5 million to 8 million. I wouldn't have thought icemoths or cheese exporting would be such a powerful aphrodisiac.

*checks again* Oh ho, now I've got it! That legion of door-to-door insurance salesmen must be providing their customers with highly...particular service.

j.lu (j.lu), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 21:32 (twenty-one years ago) link

Ally, its pinko commie laws like that that will bring you into the Ilxorian liberal socialist fold.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 21:41 (twenty-one years ago) link

ARRRGH FUCK YOU ALL, I'M MOVING TO THE AXIS.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 21:46 (twenty-one years ago) link

Oh yeah, I'll endorse anyone.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 20 May 2003 21:47 (twenty-one years ago) link

It's okay, Ally, I started out as a left-leaning college state but within a day I was rolling in abusive opulence. Serious exploitation takes practice.
