The worst part was the rising panic as my options snapped closed, one by one, and the feeling of being trapped just grew and grew, and the knowledge that I'd ruined it, I'd ruined my one chance to be married and/or happy and I could never tell my mother because her heart would break. My god I'm crying just remembering it....

Marcello: when I joined NME I had to tell at least three otherwise intelligent writers what zeitgeist meant. I don't know if that's relevant here but considering how life has been recently I'll say Anna's one was eerie.

Then there was this other dream about a dude called Knutson, no one liked him. I think some Hollywood actress was leading the campaign against him, I can't quite recall which one. Chris (London ILX version) told me to let a door shut in Knutson's face.

I'm suprised, Rox, cause this:

Last night: I had to give Barima a ride from the Knoxville airport to my house, where he was crashing. He was wearing a kind of blue/red, argyle sweater vest and carrying a solitary, brown train case. My IRL friend Ben demanded to be in charge of Rima's travel money, shoving the cash greedily into his pockets. Rima said something like "Um, are you even sure of the amounts?" and Ben was like, "YES, TWENTY SEVEN IN THE FRONT POCKET AND FIFTY SEVEN IN THE BACK. I'VE GOT IT."

is fucking astounding. Taken me this long to see it too. My youngest brother has a case pretty much matching that description and I nearly bought a pink/purple argyle sweater vest on Sunday, though I want one full stop. And I want to crash at your place someday.

I dreamed recently that I finally hooked up with Mutya from the Sugababes and we had this fanatstic relationship where we took the piss out of each other constantly, had great "chemistry" and I was the perfect father to her mondo adorable baby daughter, but The Lex ultimately renounced his friendship with me because he kept objecting over Mutya having a post-birth sex life or something (just like in real life).

I actually dreamed last night that Oprah died, and the whole time that I was watching the insane media coverage, I was thinking "Huh. I just had a dream the other night that this happened."

I usually stay away from "dream threads", but I just wanted to put this down somewhere to jinx my dream from coming true. Long live Oprah. You owe me your life.

I had a dream the other night that I was in America and I went to visit some friends in the middle of a desert and it turned out that we were staying at Allyzay's house. Her father owned a zoo/safari park type thing out the back yard, and we sat and looked at hippos and alligators and bears running around. Then someone showed me a magazine, a sort of Hello! type thing, and it was full of glamorous pictures of an engagement party and it was Tombot and Allyzay, all glamorous and Hello!-magaziney.

I have no friends in deserts in the middle of the states, and have never met Allyzay and Tombot.

The next night I had another ILX dream, but I can't remember it at all.

So apparently my subconscious is on a roll with the ILXness cos the other night I dreamt that Carly and I were tired from walking around town and she was feeling bloo so we ducked into a nearby cafe to rest & cheer up. Unfortunately, in a twist from the "why'd the NYC diner kick us out for ordering fries?" thread, it was NO CAFE but in fact Anthony Bourdain's new (imaginary) restaurant and we couldn't stay unless we ordered serious food. Fortunately there was a prix fixe menu with an Argentine-themed option for $30 a head; meal consisted of a cut of beef and a cottage loaf of homemade bread. No veg, apparently!

At some point the Nick Lowe song "So It Goes" was played in the restaurant (which was empty but for us) and AB was favorably impressed that both Carly and I sang along -- so he sent a bottle of champagne to our table, and it tasted like strawberries. That's all I remember.

I had this bizarre dream last night that the guys in my band were going on about maria tessa sciarrino -- saying how pretty she is and stuff. One f them said she had a "kind mouth" or somesuch. I was like "Ha! You don't even KNOW her! *I* know her!!" or something. What?
