Just glanced up at the TV as Blackburn equalised and thought they were playing with a balloon at first

Burn NBS

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 4 January 2014 14:13 (ten years ago) link

Accrington have just tweeted that four of their fans travelled down to Portsmouth yesterday, only for the game to be called off, so Stanley boss James Beattie has sorted them out with four tickets for Southampton v Burnley.

Now that's a gesture.

Paul Robinson's first game for over a year!

Ramnaresh Samhain (ShariVari), Saturday, 4 January 2014 14:29 (ten years ago) link

shame that only big s/e clubs like southend have the set-up to put a game on today after the weather

r|t|c, Saturday, 4 January 2014 14:47 (ten years ago) link

Apparently the only games we're getting in the US are Leeds/Rochdale and Grimsby/Huddersfield, good work FOX.

xxp presumably continue to sit around and not accept any generous loan offers idk

quite funny this isnt on telly anywhere really as jc hasnt been on the bench for us nor has ever even once been seen training with the first team anytime to my knowledge - p much the most 'shop window' appearance of all time

gonna have to be a preposterous 0-1 smash and grab alamo classic

Rochdale vs Leeds
Grimsby Town vs Huddersfield Town
Macclesfield Town vs Sheffield Wednesday

appear to be the only games on "tv"

Pre-Madonna (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:43 (ten years ago) link

can only imagine how numbing Norwich 1 Fulham 1 must've been to watch

The Zinger Not the Zung (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:51 (ten years ago) link

slightly less numbing than Villa 1 Sheff Utd 2, fyi

Windsor Davies, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:53 (ten years ago) link

i can see an entertaining side to that one, soz

are you reaching the Deal or No Deal stage yet with Benteke where you're wishing you'd took the banker's last offer?

The Zinger Not the Zung (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:55 (ten years ago) link

eh still not really. no reason to suspect Lambert wouldn't have spent the money on arseholes and incompetents. Benteke still not the problem, it's everyone else. Like literally, everyone else. And that's accounting for his poor form and dodgy attitude atm. At least we know for a fact that he can play football quite well, which is more than you can say for any of the rest of them

Windsor Davies, Saturday, 4 January 2014 16:59 (ten years ago) link

itv finally showing live footy in ireland (or maybe its just fa cup) oh welp who cares.

Lack of Capoue concerns me.

Ramnaresh Samhain (ShariVari), Saturday, 4 January 2014 17:17 (ten years ago) link

Yeah midfield is gonna be easy to ruj through and centre halves easy to run behind. Walcott has had so much joy against us these past few years and thatll continue today imo

i kid because i glove (darraghmac), Saturday, 4 January 2014 17:22 (ten years ago) link

Does that count as a ruj through by Walcott just then?

Pre-Madonna (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Saturday, 4 January 2014 17:27 (ten years ago) link

Rujful yes

Good match tho

Oooohh

i kid because i glove (darraghmac), Saturday, 4 January 2014 17:28 (ten years ago) link

I like benteleb but get him off quick imo

Arsenal looking like a canny unit while we struggle to knit the front four at all, lennon not the player he used be three days ago

i kid because i glove (darraghmac), Saturday, 4 January 2014 17:32 (ten years ago) link

Arsenal can fuck right off over the reduced ticket allocation. If there are concerns about segregation they should have built the fucking stadium differently, it's not as if they were unaware of the FA Cup.

Pre-Madonna (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Saturday, 4 January 2014 17:32 (ten years ago) link

just realized i don't need to stream this. didn't know a spurs team could contain so much running

Sweet header from Kramaric but Schwarzer has handed this to Villa.

Rainbow DAESH (ShariVari), Sunday, 15 February 2015 14:22 (nine years ago) link

Enjoyed Pearce and Savage's overlong spiel about how brilliant Given had been, prolonged further by them awkwardly realising the video editors were repeatedly replaying Given almost giving away a goal by fumbling a tame cross, and having to gradually adjust to say he may have been disappointed to have not held the first save because he held himself to such high standards

The only other notable things he did in the match were make a great save and pass the ball to a Leicester player inside the Villa 6 yard area

Dadjokke (Sgt. Biscuits), Sunday, 15 February 2015 14:40 (nine years ago) link

Feelinng super retro watching Bradford leading Sunderland on a shonky stream on a pitch of almost no green

ineloquentwow (Craigo Boingo), Sunday, 15 February 2015 14:45 (nine years ago) link

It isn't the first time Steadinho has made Sunderland look shit against lower league opposition. Bradford have got a very good deal with him, he has been a pivotal player in their money spinning cup run and we were so keen to get shut of him we generously agreed to continue paying the bulk of his wage.

xelab, Sunday, 15 February 2015 16:49 (nine years ago) link

That was the first time I've seen Benteke play in ages. He looks rubbish now.

Wouldn't fancy being a steward at that one

tayto fan (Michael B), Saturday, 7 March 2015 19:29 (nine years ago) link

never mind the stewards, what about the poor journalists who have to witness and describe such stomach-churningly horrific scenes

this sort of thing is simply not on :(

Dadjokke (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 7 March 2015 19:51 (nine years ago) link

Not seen it, but twitter comments suggest it's just a standard celebration pitch invasion. What's wrong with that?

Or did something else happen?

Drop soap, not bombs (Ste), Saturday, 7 March 2015 19:55 (nine years ago) link

60-odd particularly dense Villa fans invaded the corner of the Holte End after the second goal and were rightly criticised and booed by the other supporters as they were being shepherded back off

There was a full pitch invasion on the final whistle, which is a stupid thing to do for winning a quarter final, but seemingly everyone who works for the BBC appeared to be witnessing a pitch invasion for the first time ever and assumed it was some sort of attempted massacre

http://gyazo.com/587c0a9aeb6e4cac2538f8b800cf93a4

Nult is on the scene and has described the atmosphere as "toxic", and also feels that "sad that would had"

Dadjokke (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 7 March 2015 20:03 (nine years ago) link

Xpost ffs tho its still only the semi final. Journalist outrage was as OTT as fans reaction, true.

tayto fan (Michael B), Saturday, 7 March 2015 20:05 (nine years ago) link

Fabian Delph said he got bit by an overexcited fan I read on Twitter somewhere (McNulty?).

It was the pre-final whistle invasion that I think made the suits nervous. Although none of it seemed too "bad old days". Fuck, they've had a shitsucking season, let them have a release ffs.

ineloquentwow (Craigo Boingo), Saturday, 7 March 2015 20:49 (nine years ago) link

well how would he tbf

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Saturday, 7 March 2015 21:15 (nine years ago) link

I just imagine a single tear rolling down Nult's face as he watches the fans pouring onto the pitch, repeating the words "will have known" while shaking his head sadly.

Junior Dictionary (LocalGarda), Saturday, 7 March 2015 21:20 (nine years ago) link

was seeing tweets about a pitch invasion, forgot what games where on the day so i had a wee look. fuck me you beat the baggies at home in the cup and youre pitch invasioning. that's about the only thing wrong with it, the proportionality.

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Saturday, 7 March 2015 21:49 (nine years ago) link

during a particularly shit period of rangers form in maybe 2006 or so Celtic beat them 2-0 then 3-0 at home, in the league and cup, or the league and league cup, and actually released a DVD "remember, remember our two wins in november". which is sort of beyond parody.

Rave Van Donk (jim in glasgow), Saturday, 7 March 2015 21:52 (nine years ago) link
