Musicians who died by suicide

Sorry to sound so morbid.

I'm working on something and would like to see what type of list we can come up with. No need to post the Wikipedia list (all of us have access to it already).

Also, it'd be nice if you knew by what method they took their lives.

Let's start with some of the more obvious ones:

Tim Buckley - heroin/morphine/ethanol overdose
Judee Sill - cocaine and codeine overdose
Nick Drake - Prescription medicine overdose/probable suicide?
Phil Ochs - hanging
Ian Curtis - hanging
Mark Linkous - gunshot to the heart
Kurt Cobain - gunshot
Elliott Smith - stabbing/unknown/possible homicide
Marilyn Monroe - probably suicide/barbiturate overdose

Controversial/unknown/disappearances also count.

I almost want to say those who were on life support and stopped receiving it should count, as well, but this complicates matters, as many did not explicitly say they wanted to end their lives. I'm thinking of Glenn Gould here.

Glenn Miller - experimental kamikaze pilot

Ozzy Osbourne - head bitten off by a bat

Jon Bon Jovi - shot through the heart. and you're to blame.

Nick Van Eede: not sure but it was in somebody's arms

In The New Book Of Rock Lists (1994), Keith Moon's death (he OD'd on Heminevrin, a sedative prescribed to curb his alcoholism) is asterisked with "possibly a suicide." Haven't seen that theory anywhere else, though.

Doug Hopkins from the Gin Blossoms is a good one. Read a really good longform article written about him shortly after he died. Very sad, and a real loss to music IMO.

Johnny Ace? Heard one of those "on this day" bits on the radio Christmas Day, the story that he killed himself playing Russian Roulette. Just looked at the Wikipedia entry, which disputes that with testimony he was just showing off, telling everyone the gun wasn't loaded. Either way, pointing a gun at yourself and pulling the trigger seems like halfway to suicide regardless of context.
