Should be noted the producer B. Traits is the white chick going ham sammich in the vid.

Yeah I think there are already quite a few ILX converts to this amazing tune!

Tim F, Saturday, 21 April 2012 00:31 (1 year ago) Permalink

I didn't know of it til J-Shep freaked out about it on twitter today! Where have people been talking about it?

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 00:35 (1 year ago) Permalink

just to head off my disappointment - this is not actually house or jungle is it? it's going to be r&b, right?

the late great, Saturday, 21 April 2012 00:36 (1 year ago) Permalink

House.

Tim F, Saturday, 21 April 2012 00:38 (1 year ago) Permalink

Rev, a little bit of convo here:

your 11 favourite songs of the moment, fuck.

Tim F, Saturday, 21 April 2012 00:38 (1 year ago) Permalink

oooh exciting!

the late great, Saturday, 21 April 2012 00:39 (1 year ago) Permalink

yeah, it's more house than anything

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 01:11 (1 year ago) Permalink

ahhh, i don't read that thread xxp

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 01:13 (1 year ago) Permalink

love love love this

y'tulip, y'pea-brained earwig (donna rouge), Saturday, 21 April 2012 01:20 (1 year ago) Permalink

there's a DJ Q & Toddla T remix! it's not quite as good as the og but that's a tall hurdle to clear

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 01:25 (1 year ago) Permalink

whoa this song

night ripa (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 21 April 2012 06:20 (1 year ago) Permalink

this song actually went top 40 the other week!

i think i read somewhere that b.traits is from vancouver, which was slightly confusing

liberté, égalité, beyoncé (lex pretend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 06:55 (1 year ago) Permalink

This is so fucking big.

aboulia banks (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 21 April 2012 06:57 (1 year ago) Permalink

that first drop where it stops and the piano riff comes back on the synth is whooooooosh

aboulia banks (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 21 April 2012 06:59 (1 year ago) Permalink

hopefully everyone itt is already on Redlight (f. Nicole Jackson) -- Get Out My Head already as well

liberté, égalité, beyoncé (lex pretend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 07:00 (1 year ago) Permalink

Yeah I love that one too - and group the two tunes together in my head.

Tim F, Saturday, 21 April 2012 08:12 (1 year ago) Permalink

oh, i've heard this! no idea where tho. never saw that thread before. don't think this is quite as good as "fever" tho

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 08:14 (1 year ago) Permalink

damn. elisabeth troy is so fucking fierce and b. traits is ridic adorable. i want to introduce her to my momz yo

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 08:18 (1 year ago) Permalink

yeah that's why i brought it up - and both have been actual UK hits too. i prefer "get out my head" by some distance though obv "fever" is great too - feels more kinetic and there's more of a song

liberté, égalité, beyoncé (lex pretend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 08:19 (1 year ago) Permalink

naw, "fever" is way more kinetic imo

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 08:21 (1 year ago) Permalink

and i think i generally favor big gospel-trained diva singing over dancehall-y vocals in this kind of thing

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 08:23 (1 year ago) Permalink

you've heard elisabeth troy's classic performance from, god, over a decade ago now? on mj cole's "crazy love"

liberté, égalité, beyoncé (lex pretend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 08:24 (1 year ago) Permalink

i've discovered that album lately! didn't realize the connection tho.

hologram ned raggett (The Reverend), Saturday, 21 April 2012 08:37 (1 year ago) Permalink

I'm glad people have drawn the connection with that Redlight tune. I think I slightly prefer the energy of that one but this is amazing as well. Kinda 'Dreamer' x 'Far Out'? I'm not surprised it went top 40 in the UK, I suppose this whole sound is kinda the new pop classicism now we have an entire generation of kids who are younger than rave. But if it's going to be that, then this is a great look.

Also I think my brain has some kind of Pavlovian conditioning to go "damn, that kid's gonna be far out" at the bit when the piano cuts out. (Link for young people).

heh this is pretty rad, kinda sounds like that one utah saints track to my (ancient) ears. very retro?

my favorite elisabeth troy track is "greater love" w/ soundman and don lloydie

the late great, Saturday, 21 April 2012 15:59 (1 year ago) Permalink

looks like homegirl has helped do a fabric mix

the late great, Monday, 23 April 2012 17:37 (1 year ago) Permalink

oh hey, this is wonderful! comparisons to the Redlight track are right-on but more songs could have that electric piano-almost-marimba sound on them

rob, Monday, 23 April 2012 17:53 (1 year ago) Permalink

re: that Fabriclive mix, I can't help think that 49 tracks is a bit much?

boxedjoy, Monday, 23 April 2012 21:53 (1 year ago) Permalink

i'm with you, also just based on artist/label a lot of those tracks look questionable to me

the late great, Monday, 23 April 2012 22:12 (1 year ago) Permalink

this is a great track but i've kinda had my chips with it now in a way i havent with 'get out my head'. (altho both of them are like 4/5 months old now so i guess that says more about redlight than traits maybe)

she played house crew 'euphoria' on the radio the other week, which was nice. wouldn't quite be homegirling her just yet tho
