last night I was coming home on the nightbus, and I really needed to pee the entire way home, pretty much, having ran for the bus. anyhow the bus pulled up near where I live and I got off and made my way to a small wooded area (very small) near the shops, about 5 minutes from my house, to take a leak, because I was quite desperate at this point.

So as I was peeing I felt kind of uneasy, and for a second I thought maybe a police car had pulled up, I could hear rustling and I had the sensation that I was not alone, whatever sensation that is I can't describe but I definitely felt something was amiss.

And then as I turned to leave I saw it.........right behind where I'd peed and pretty much the route I'd walked into the bushes, I must have stepped over it, A HUMAN BODY.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 13 May 2005 08:24 (twenty-one years ago)

they will take the DNA from your urine and find you

paranoid, Friday, 13 May 2005 08:27 (twenty-one years ago)

So what was a presumably live (the rustling) human doing lying in the bushes then?

$V£N! (blueski), Friday, 13 May 2005 08:27 (twenty-one years ago)

The rustling was most likely the sound of the rats as they FEASTED.

Tom (Groke), Friday, 13 May 2005 08:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I have no idea, I rang the police when I got home.

It was fucking terrifying! I ran all the way home, and actually shouted "oh my god!".

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 13 May 2005 08:30 (twenty-one years ago)

That's horrible. At my school, a couple of kids took a short cut while they were doing the annual cross country run on Hampstead Heath and they found a body, which turned out to be a homeless guy.

beanz (beanz), Friday, 13 May 2005 08:34 (twenty-one years ago)

(I thought this was going to be a Calum thread)

beanz (beanz), Friday, 13 May 2005 08:34 (twenty-one years ago)

What did the police say Ronan?

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 13 May 2005 08:36 (twenty-one years ago)

So your story is for real? Jesus! That's awful.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Friday, 13 May 2005 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Piss-Murder Shame Of ILX Ronan

N_RQ, Friday, 13 May 2005 09:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Then again, maybe he'd been stung by a jellyfish. You might have saved his life!

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Fucking hell Ronan, are you alright?

Anna (Anna), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow! My boyfriend found a dead body once, he was delivering a turf cutter and a tarpaulin to a house in Clydebank, and found a guy behind the hedge with his head stoved in.

It then turned out the turf cutter and the tarp had been ordered on a stolen credit card.

Rumpy Pumpkin, Friday, 13 May 2005 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

EEEk! Ronan, hope you're okay mate.

dog latin (dog latin), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

The police thanked me and said they'd send a car down, I wonder was he okay. I didn't get a chance to look cos to be honest the minute I saw a person I sprinted away in fear.

I am fine really, I was terrified then, just the thought of someone being a foot away from you without you knowing, that's pretty freaky I think.

I hope he was okay, I think it was a guy. seriously weird, I wonder if I call the police again would they let me know what happened. I suppose not.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:37 (twenty-one years ago)

knowing our wonderful policefolk, you're lucky they didn't come back to nick you for having a piss (or "public indecency", as i think they call it).

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:40 (twenty-one years ago)

The knowing what happened thing is the weirdest thing about being a crime/accident/whatever witness. Unless there's a trial or something, you usually just can't know, it's like you've been an extra in some story but you've got no possible chance of seeing the script.

Tom (Groke), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, there was some thing in the paper about our murder, they got someone for it. I wish I knew why someone had ordered goods to that address when there was a body lying visible to the first person who walked up the garden path.

Rumpie, Friday, 13 May 2005 09:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I reported a cash machine on which I think there's a fraudulent card reader, this morning. Sadly I did it after inserting my card (but before typing in my pin) so the fraudsters probably have my details by now anyway.

Um, Rumpie, perhaps the tarp was to cover the corpse and the turf cutter was to dig a shallow grave with?

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:49 (twenty-one years ago)

In a way if it was a case of some sort of accident I feel bad for not checking he was ok, I am qualified in life-support and stuff, but yeah, I choked.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 13 May 2005 09:50 (twenty-one years ago)

That's exactly what we thought!

Rumpie, Friday, 13 May 2005 09:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Ronan are you ok? hope you dont have sleep trouble.

battlingspacemonkey (battlingspacemonkey), Friday, 13 May 2005 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Ronan you can't feel guilty about it. You called the professionals after all.

beanz (beanz), Friday, 13 May 2005 10:26 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, you did good.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 13 May 2005 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

it's funny I feel fine. I think I am just assuming he was asleep.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 13 May 2005 10:48 (twenty-one years ago)

oh no Ronan, how horrid. um, er, what do you think the original rustling was that you heard? esp if the body was dead as opposed to asleep.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 13 May 2005 10:56 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe the wind. maybe whoever it was was moving I don't know. I definitely got that being watched feeling......very distinctly.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 13 May 2005 12:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Ronan... are you sure it was a corpse and not someone sleeping rough?

waitaminute, this is Malahide, people don't sleep rough there.

whereabouts in the hood was this anyway?

DV (dirtyvicar), Friday, 13 May 2005 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Darling, darling, stand.
By me.

Huk-L, Friday, 13 May 2005 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Jeepers, how creepy. :-(

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 13 May 2005 15:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I, too, had a cop/peeing incident recently but it mainly involved them seeing me do it and then giving me a summons. It was after the New Order DJ set when they'd kicked everyone out of the club. I should have said I had just seen a BODY and had to relieve myself involuntarily.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 13 May 2005 16:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Ronan is not certain, but other people are being certain on his behalf for some reason.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 13 May 2005 16:18 (twenty-one years ago)

He's like the wind, through my trees
He rides the night next to me
I make a branch in the moonlight,
Only to find I'm not alone..
He's made me shit my keks
But he doesn't know what he's done

Feel his breath on my foot
His body close to me
Can't look in his eyes
Because they're crusted shut.
Just a fool to believe
I could pee in some fucking peace.
He's like the wind..

I'm just an average guy with an average life
I work from nive to five, hey hell I pay the price
But I want is to be left alone in my average home
But why do I always feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone

CHORUS:
I always feel that somebody's watchin' me
And I have no privacy
I always feel that somebody's watchin' me
Is it just a dream?

When I come home at night
I bolt the door real tight
People call me on the phone I'm trying to avoid
Well, can the people on TV see me or am I just paranoid

CHORUS

When I'm in the shower, I'm afraid to wash my hair
I might open my eyes and find someone standing there
People say I'm crazy, just a little touched
But maybe showers remind me of Psycho too much
That's why...

I always feel like somebody's watching me
Who's playing tricks on me
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Tell me it can't be

I don't know anymore
Are the neighbors watching me
Well is the mailman watching me
And I don't feel safe anymore, oh what a mess
I wonder who's watching me now?
Who?
The IRS?

I always feel like somebody's watching me
Who's playing tricks on me
I always feel like somebody's watching me
I can't enjoy my tea!
